I received reclast on July 13 2026.....I started that evening with soreness....not unexpected.....by the middle of the night my ribs felt like a vise.....by 5 am I was having severe pain with deep breaths......unsteady on my feet......by 7 am I was in excruciating pain with deep breaths and severe pain with just breathing.....my husband called ambulance to take me to the emergency room....I couldn't walk.....after many hours in the ER and multiple IV meds....pain was tolerable.....I was sent home.....all tests normal.....I have been dealing with pain in a variety of bones since then.....let's just say this outcome is NOT worth it. I feel so old and exhausted from the pain.....today it is my shoulders and left knee. I'm taking aleve around the clock and see my primary Dr on Tuesday.....anything that helps anyone I'm willing to try.....this is no life.

bevjh, I'm sorry you are having this misery. Tylenol might work better than naproxen sodium. You might ask your primary for a medrol 5 pack to stop what seems to be a cytokine cycle. Five days of this is more often the max, but for some it cycles on. It is true that corticosteroids are hard on the bones, but I read that the constant inflammation is worse. I hope this will be your last day.

@bevjh best of luck to you! It’s been a little over two years since my first and last Reclast infusion. Hopefully your symptoms subside quickly; I’m still dealing with both the old symptoms as well as new ones that just keep coming up without any explanation from my Rheumatologist or Neurologist or endocrinologist; all symptoms came about after my first and last Reclast infusion!

After the 3rd infusion of reclast i experienced a long period of deep bone pain. This last months and ended as quickly as it started. I have only read occasional mention of others experiencing this side effect. Wondering if there are others out there. I’m needing to consider trying it again.

@newenglandseasons

I had my first Reclast infusion last year with no issues at all.
I ha my 2nd infusion on July 20th , 2026. The next morning I felt a little sore, the kind of sore you get from working out. I went to an very easy exercise class the following day without any problem. I ve have pain and stiffness in my left hip and lower back since. I'm ok getting around without pain but getting up from being seating is painful and I feel VERY stiff until walking it off...until the next time I have to get up, like getting out of my car. I hope this subsides.

@bevjh Please be careful with continued Aleve use. I took prescription Naprosyn for quite a few years for arthritis pain and I wound up damaging my kidneys. I now have chronic kidney disease. All of the NSAIDs can do this if taken for too long when we get older. I'm so sorry your response to Reclast was so severe. I am thankful for all the people like you who have reported the awful things this drug does to people because it has helped me come to the decision that I do not want to try Reclast despite the fact that 2 endocrinologists have chosen this drug for me. I have not told my regular endo yet of my decision but I will be this fall when I see him next. I hope you start to feel better soon.

@llander1966 I am scheduled for an x ray in September to see if the Reclast infusion I received two years ago changed anything! Honestly, I’m really not sure why I am agreeing to have that done because no matter the results, I’m not going to receive any further treatment with any kind of infusion. Once we put that crap into our body we are at the mercy of the medication and the doctors cannot provide 100% that there will be no more negative side effects!

@dannyandebbie I understand. It's all your decision. I have decided against Reclast and will be telling my endocrinologist at my next appointment which is early in December. I agree with you, it isn't worth taking a chance. Good luck!

Hi ~ Just finished Evenity. Scheduled for Reclast infusion in September. I am rethinking this continuance with Reclast. I developed a bone spur and OsteoArthritis in my left wrist, some bone pain and achy joints. Has anyone's doctor advised not continuing the follow up drugs?
