Aypical Femur Fracture Surgical treatment

about 18 years ago i took Fosamax for about 12-18 months. Discontinued due to concerns about reported Atypical Femur fractures. Bone density was declining so i was started on Prolia 13 years ago. Had a recent fall on a wet floor the end of April. Early in June I got up during the night and as i stepped out of bed had a shooting pain in my right upper leg which i thought was a pulled muscle. Bone density July 20 identified an abnormality which Xray and MRI confirmed AFF consistent with bisphosphonate therapy. Considering having the rod inserted to prevent full breakage. Anyone have experience with this surgical remedy??

I believe Prolia also has a risk of atypical femur fractures.

It seems every drug for osteoporosis has it to some degree.
At this point, I hope to hear from someone who has opted to do the surgery to implant the rod to prevent further fracture now or in the future for their experience and outccome.
