New here with prostate cancer.

Hello and thank you for being here. I am 75 years old and have been diagnosed with prostate cancer. I have been reading posts here and anywhere else that has information about it.
I am getting use to most of the acronyms and abbreviations I read but not all of them. Is there a page that spells them out?
I have read that some people have 3+4=7 or 4+3=7. My biopsy shows both plus some kind of nerve invasion so does that make me a little different from others?
I also have had a psma pet scan that showed it has not spread past the prostate.
I have a doctors appointment Monday morning to go over everything but I’m not sure about what questions to ask about the different options regarding surgery or radiation as there seems to be options for both.
I am using the VA in San Francisco for my treatment if that helps you with any response you may have.
I am sure to have more questions after the appointment and I am very grateful for your help and support.

What I have learned is the gleason score is subjective and to get a second opinion on your biopsy; also to have a decipher test done on the biopsy to check the risk in the tumor.
Other factors to consider is the size and location of the tumor(s).

I'm not sure what nerve invasion means , is it Perineural invasion?

Take your time making a decision, best of luck

Well I have been reading lots of posts on here and I’m learning a lot.
I want to thank Jeff for his suggestion of the Ancan website and I am joining them next Monday for a conversation about my situation.
I also am wondering if anyone here has experience with Providence St. Joseph in Eureka CA. For radiation therapy or San Francisco VA for surgery as those are my options for now.
Thanks, Jim

Ancan.Org Also has a veterans meeting. Captain Jim Marshall runs it and he knows how to get treated well everywhere in the country.

The veterans meeting is at 5 PM on the 18th. You probably wanna get to that one too. They will talk with you a little about it in the main meeting.

Make sure you get there 10 minutes early for the Monday meeting, That’s very important to be first in line, Or maybe other new people.
