Use of high dose melatonin (10-15mg) on a daily basis.
Is it safe? Any side effects?

Problem with the 10ng gummies. I like them. Eating maybe 8 a day. So I am still alive AND helps with benzo taper which is getting close to zero. Yay!!!

Your high dose is way above any reasonable recommended off label use. It could lead to unexpected
side effects and impaired driving.
It is throwing off some normal body clock functions.
It has been tried for preoperative sedation.
Suggest cutting down to 10 mg or less before bedtime.
There are some timed release type available for nighttime use. The high dose could interact with other
drugs such as coumadin . Have you experienced sleep disturbances or vivid dreams.?
Good news on your benzo taper so just go very slow in the home stretch.

Restless mind usually keeps me up. Take melatonin once in awhile, doesn’t seem to help. I’m 63, at times i use a chewable 10 mg tablet and got as high as 60 mg. Fall asleep within the hour and usually two to three good hours, then toss and turn. Diagnosed with mild sleep apnea so im on a cpap machine. Been praying for a good 6-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep for years..

Marcus, A you saying that you are consuming 80 mg of melatonin a day? That is highly unadvisable. 10 mg (1 gummy to you) a day is even considered high. I took 10 mg a night for many years. Then, I read an article that stated melatonin in high dosages does not make it more effective. In fact, lower dosages work much better. I now take 1 mg a night and it works better. Good luck to you.

Try adding magnesium and L threonate to a small dose of melatonin . This has helped me sleep at age 80.
