Has any used MDVIP for primary doctor care?

This is a large concierge medical group. I can’t speak for this company but in general with concierge docs you get more time with your doc, they have less patients so more time to devote to you. With many you can be seen same day anytime. Instead of the typical 12 minute visit you may get 30-45 minutes, yearly physicals may be even longer and more in depth.

In my opinion, for the average budget, it isn’t worth the cost if you don’t have any medical problems. Of course, if money isn’t an issue…. But if you have one or more serious medical problems it may well be worth the extra cost.

I have several serious medical problems and had a concierge physician for many years. It was wonderful. She had a different setup. It cost $90/ month. She didn’t bill insurance at all. No copays. Since insurance wasn’t involved, she was free to talk at length on the phone if I didn’t feel up for getting out of the house. She answered questions from her portal the same day. I only had a few times that I wanted a same day appointment and I was always accommodated sometimes she spent over an hour with me. It helped that I really liked her. We had a excellent rapport and she really listened,

Since I moved a year ago, I’ve gone back to traditional medicine. I interviewed several PCPs before finding one I liked. She is excellent also. Also spends loads of time with me.

In summary I think finding a doctor that meets your needs, listens well, and with whom you have a good rapport is the most important.

Our PCP, who we have been with for 20+ years, has informed us he has affiliated with MDVIP and his practice will change later this year. I’m fortunate to be a healthy 82-year old, but my 85-year old husband has multiple health issues as is under the care of multiple specialists. This doctor knows us well, we like him, and he has always given us the time we need. I’m hoping we will both be able to stay with him without joining MDVIP, albeit having to accept longer waits for appointments and perhaps somewhat less attention than we have been getting from him. I see some potential value in my husband joining MDVIP but not for me.

I’ve had various Conceirage doctors over the years, and love the access and their connections. Always get right in. My current PCP is a geriatric specialist. Each appt is up to an hour - more if necessary. I have her cell number, and can call or text her or her clinic 24/7. The cost for me is $350/month, but the comfort I get is worth much more. Never see a bill, it’s all handled thru their clinic. Only extras are X-rays, MRI, etc. and, of course, if she sends me out to a specialist. I’m in Washington State.
