I've said it a couple of times on other conversations that I wish there was a convention for us Mayo clinic community forum members. Our fellow members seem more in tune with us than anyone else these days.

There may be some truth in what you say. I participate in two health-related forums: Mayo Connect and the Sepsis Alliance (because of an infection I had a few years back). In both forums, the one thing we are all battling is disease, regardless of our specific diagnoses. We are able to relate to one another in a very special way. I know when I finish a post to someone here on Connect, saying "I don't have the same symptoms you have, but I hope you find relief from your symptoms very soon," I really mean it, not because I genuinely feel what that person feels, not exactly, but because of what we have in common: fighting a disease.
