I was diagnosed with stage four with a Gleason score 4-5 I had no symptoms at the beginning of this May then pain in ribs and nausea i had a pet psma and it showed 3-4 psma for what ever that means I have started hormone therapy which wasn’t that bad but now on taxotere at first not so bad but now day 7 it still feels terrible day 4 was worse but it’s still bad and I feel like I’m never going to feel even somewhat normal mostly pain in my legs and feet this is drug should improve my life span but at what cost now i feel like the rest of my life will just be a misery can anyone help is there a life worth living after this I don’t know if I should plan anything for the future. I was enjoying the best time in my life but now I just feel broken

In Chemo procedure (docetaxel) I crawled under the table.But after the third session, it got much better. Wait, the medications should work, it won't happen right away. Hang in there. There are a lot of knowledgeable people here, they'll help you.

Wow, chemo and ADT at the same time, that must be horrible. Some of the newer ADT drugs like Orgovyx can have possibly less side effect than drugs like Lupron.
What type of ADT drug are you taking?

2 ReactionsSorry to hear you are going through this. Hang in there. Your body should adjust to the harsh drugs. There are many men who are still alive 10+ years that have been in your position or even worse. Wishing you the best.

1 Reaction@denis76 at first 930 and in less then 2 weeks 2000 about 2 weeks ago it was 120 and most of the pain went away i have rather extensive lesions but only on bones according to psma pet scan the first blood test we thought was a mistake as my doctor thought I had a heart condition or infection in my gut

1 ReactionI feel a bit better now but it is extremely tough at times to keep up a positive outlook and easy to fall into a real funk. strangely i now can hardly taste salt but that’s a minor issue

It's normal for taste to change; it felt like I had iron in my mouth. I've had eight chemotherapy sessions.
Pull yourself together – stop worrying and stay positive. This isn't the type of cancer that kills you right away! Remember one thing – you have a chance, move towards your goal. I know it's been tough for you, it was tough for me too. It's important to have support – your wife and children.
Tell me about yourself in detail here, and the guys will help you with advice. Find some time and write.
On a personal note, I also have 4+5, and the metastases were like a Christmas tree, but I didn't give up and still haven't!
Ask your doctor about treatment with drugs like Erleada, Xtandi, and Nubeca. Get tested for genetic mutations.
And remember, the most important thing is a positive attitude – we're with you!
Fight, forward, only forward!

5 ReactionsThe treatment you’re getting is done when somebody has many metastasis. Going on ADT first is pretty normal. It can be problematic, especially if you’re older. I’ve been on ADT for nine years and At 78 it’s really not a big problem. I don’t get the fatigue, however, which is a really major problem for some people. I do get hot flashes, however, Last night in particular, they wouldn’t stop when I was trying to sleep, but I have a device that stops them, Just didn’t think about needing it until I had a few flashes.
Besides the ADT side effects chemo can really be tough on some people. For some people it’s not a big deal, but by the third treatment, it usually starts to cause some pretty serious side effects. The thing is it works, And you can get back to normal after. If you’re still on ADT, maybe you don’t have any desires like he used to but it should come back after you stop the ADT.
They probably want you to stay on ADT for 18 months to 2 years Since you have such a serious cancer case.
As I mentioned, I’ve been on ADT for nine years and unless I tell somebody I’ll have prostate cancer they have no idea. I lead a pretty normal life. Exercise every day walking on the track twice. Do a lot of weight training try to get to the gym three days a week.
It’s very likely that the chemo could stop the pain you’re having, if it is from the cancer. If some spots, don’t get better they can do radiation on them to kill the cancer. I had a metastasis on my spine that was wrapped around it and three sessions of SBRT Radiation knocked it out.
Prostate cancer is a chronic disease for most of us not a deadly disease.
