Definitely clear it w your surgeon. I felt I was ready for any and all return to normal activities 2.5 mos after partial (open) nephrectomy, but my surgeon made me wait 12 weeks.

@gangcarotid1 and have you went back? How did it go?

My kidney cancer surgery was Oct 2024. The actual reason I went was for a neuroendocrine tumor on my carotid artery, but when they found the 2 kidney tumors I made that the priority. Carotid tumor surgery was last yr in July.
Because of my kidney cancer, though they 'got it all', I'm considered an Intermediate Risk for recurrence, so have been dubbed a Forever Patient of Mayo's. I started out every 3 mos for checkups after kidney surgery, but after 2 three-month stints, they expanded it to 6 mos... I totally eat for my labs and religiously ride my stationery bike 6 mi every a.m. (& I'm 70 yrs old).😊
Mayo has been very impressed with my labs. I am so grateful for them saving my life that I absolutely am not going to mess this up through any fault of my own.
Next visit is October.

@gangcarotid1 wow so sorry to hear that ❤️ I had surgery in December last year had to have to lobes of right lung removed for carcinoid I was meant to have a checkup/scan at 6 months been 8 months now and still no checkup..

Have you contacted them about your appt scheduling? I would.🤓

@gangcarotid1 sure did hun twice I've rang them they told me there is a delay in ct scans at the moment so I don't no how long more I will be waiting

Can they give you an ETA? Do you have other choices for location to have CT? I have half a dozen choices if I was having it where I live.
I have em at Mayo though, and I cant fathom it happening there!

@gangcarotid1 they told me if I don't hear anything in a few weeks ring them back they will send me eles where but for now I'm still on list
