I’m starting Duloxetine for spinal stenosis pain, anyone have success?
My primary care has started me on Duloxetine for my chronic spinal stenosis pain. I felt that the Tramadol was not helping me enough. My pain clinic also started me back on Gabapentin. I do not want surgeries at my age 71, I just want to get to a pain level I can tolerate. I do have a NEVRO SCS which helps with CRPS and small fiber neuropathy in my left leg , but this doesn’t help with musculoskeletal pain and my stenosis pain. Opinions on Duloxetine?

@jeindc Oh No!! You are describing me! I can really say I know your pain. I looked at my husband and said there is one med out there that helped me tremendously. I have been suffering ever since I was told to stop taking it. It is the only med that will help me. You see what I'm going through. The med I am talking about is Oxycodone. All the meds I have been put on and still on one I hate. I only take it when I can't take the pain anymore. My head feels all foggy and my memory is horrible because of it. I'm going to talk to him about me going back on it. Maybe work it where I won't become dependent like before. I was on it for 2yrs. If he says no then I will have to continue with not taking the Gabapentin until I go to bed. I hate that med but it helps some. Thank you for responding to me. You are sweet. My prayers that you find something to help you have some relief.

I was on Gabapentin for 27 years 600 mg. per day for Fibromyalgia. I cut myself down to 300mg then to 200mg and finally weaned myself off of it. I have had 9 spinal surgeries and am looking at another one on Aug. 24th so I know what pain is like. I hate taking pain med's and try to stay far away unless my pain gets unbearable. I am looking into other medications as Cymbalta, Gabapentin, Meloxicam, Diclofenac, Tramadol, Cyclobenzaprine etc. don't seem to help. God luck and I hope whoever they do for you actually helps you.

My husband had a 4 level laminectomy, and other work done at that level (he couldn’t walk) at 78 -three months later back to playing golf. There are new outpatient options -don’t know if you are a candidate but it’s called Minuteman & others worth looking into.
i have moderate to severe pain pain from spinal stenosis also have deteriorated spinal scoliosis surgery from the 1970’s that was getting treated by gabepentin, then duloxetine and now it’s just nothing but steroid injection for the pain snd that doesn’t last either. so no i didn’t get results from it. but everyone is different
