Incontinence and pain in hands?
Recently, I have started to have difficulty holding it at times, running to the bathroom (and did not make it two days ago). When I urinate (sometimes not much), I often feel pain in my hands when bearing down (sorry if TMI), which I find very odd. I have fibromyalgia and some other physical issues my rheumatologist isn't sure of the cause yet. Went to urgent care to test for UTI, which was negative and the urgent care doctor agreed the hand pain was odd.
I am going through menopause and this symptom started after an endometrial biopsy a month and a half ago, but did get better after a couple of weeks when my cervix stopped hurting, then returned. I'm not sure if I should see a urologist or go back to my gynecologist.
Has anyone ever had this symptom and if so, what kind of doctor did you see for it?

I also have burning pain in my hands when I urinate while having a UTI. Doctor just gave me an odd look so I stopped mentioning the pain.

1 ReactionIncontinence at 80, so I wear paper panties ( Depends) at night & a panty liner during the day.
Sometime, I just make it to the bathroom but still have a panty heavy with urine...so just change it & go back to bed.
I also went to a physical therapist who gave me ? tightening ? exercises which seem to help.... I
do not want to take meds for this condition as I already take about 6 others. I think the exercises have helped in that I haven't had an accident during the day... but I do go immediately if I feel the need & don't drink much water...a down side to hydration. Find a doctor that understands!!
@2maryann5 what pad works best for you?
For years, I’ve had pain in my fingers when I urinate. It does not happen all the time. The pain is odd because it feels like someone has smashed my thumb nails with a hammer. I have no symptoms of anI have no symptoms of a UTI and if I test it always test negative. Anytime I ask a doctor about, they look at me like I’m crazy. I have no symptoms of a UTI.

Depends seems to fit the best & sometimes I even wear them in the daytime.
I'm so glad I joined this site and found out I'm not the only one! When I get UTI's I get pain in my fingers and lately in my hands also when I urinate. It starts with the first drop and ends when the flow stops. After reading these comments I'm wondering if they really are UTI's? I have the urgency and frequency. I told a few docs that I know when I have a UTI because my fingers hurt when I pee. They all looked at me like I had a screw loose. So...I see possible answers but nothing definate. I'm relieved that I'm not alone though!

1 ReactionI don't think it is a symptom of UTL I have that burning w/o pain on the back of my legs which my neurologist said was nerves. The burning is the same on my hands but severe pain is different.
@cindy99 I have Fibromyalgia and get this same intense pain in the palms of my hands only when I believe I have a UTI. I’m 40.
