You need to find a different doctor. No doctor should just Shrug off the pain from prostate cancer. If you mention where you live, I might be able to give you a good doctor to go for compassionate Treatment.

When somebody that has prostate cancer, that has advanced to the point Where It Has metastasize they should get a Genito urinary Oncologist not just an MO. The GU oncologist specializes in prostate cancer.

Go to the ancan.org Website and sign up for the advanced prostate cancer online meeting. If you attend one, they will help you with just about all the things you need to know and what the best treatment would be. The next meeting is August 11 at 6 PM eastern time. You need to install GoTo Meeting on your device and put in answercancer For the meeting, you want to join. It’s all free, but there’s great advice and multiple doctors in the meetings. You don’t need to sign up you could just show up. Get there 10 minutes early and you will be helped First.

Hi @jeffmarc ours is a genito urinary oncologist, I just wonder if we caught him on the wrong day. We did show up at our CancerCare clinic this week and they didn't seem concerned? We have our next injection of Eligard on Tuesday; and then we see our Dr on 18th. I will be very clear about the pain he's experiencing. We will join this meeting! Thank you <3

They are probably hoping that the treatments they’re giving him now will stop the pain and shrink the metastasis. The thing is you should have SBRT radiation on those metastasis as soon as possible. You don’t want them to get into the bone marrow.

Of course, if he has more than five metastasis, they do want to use chemo usually. I do know somebody that had 12 of them zapped with SBRT, That’s not common.

When somebody has multiple metastasis, they put them on at least doublet therapy if not triplet. That means ADT and an ARPI. You really don’t seem to Getting the treatment for the level of prostate cancer that he has. You should ask about getting Darolutamide Soon. It is an ARPI drug that has very few side effects for most people and really Works well to suppress the prostate cancer. I’ve had PC for 16 years, Had four reoccurrences and that drug along with Orgovyx For ADT has kept me undetectable for the last 33 months. And also would suppress any pain I had from metastasis Since it prevents them from growing and spreading.

You should ask about getting Orgovyx for ADT. It’s a pill you take once a day. It causes less plaque buildup in the arteries And when you stop taking it, the testosterone comes back quicker Than other ADT drugs.

The real question is where are the next treatments? You should be having radiation on those metastasis or chemo, depending on whether you have too many. Maybe Pluvicto. You need to ask those doctors and get this moving.

You need to be proactive about prostate cancer. You can’t just let the doctors make the decisions you have to go in there informed and ask them for what you want.

Oh not to worry -- we're in line for triplet therapy --- it is in his bones and marrow. His second Eligard injection is on Tuesday and has been taking Darolutamide for a month so far. They are waiting for his neutrophils and platlets to rebound before he is eligible for chemo. We are optimistic about starting chemo after our meeting on the 18th. I agree that I wonder about radiation, too.
