I would like to hear from people that have been on prolia a long-term and how it's helped.
I have been on reclast for 4 years I have three fractures in my spine one is 3 years old the other two or two years old I recently woke up with severe back pain and all three vertebrae have collapsed farther I'm really upset. So with my health issues the only medication that I'm able to do now is prolia the injections twice a year I really would like to find out what people have done and how they feel on it

Hi yes it may be available but it is not covered by any insurance companies as of yet

That’s terrible…I see it runs about $800 per month 18 months course would be about $14,000. Sometimes you and your doctor can contact Radius and explain medical necessity and get Tymlos in the neighborhood of $300 month in Canada…$5400 for 18 months.
There are not a lot of options for severe osteoporosis…the usual approach currently is an anabolic (Forteo, Tymlos) or Evenity followed by Prolia, Reclast or other bio similar drug to maintain your gains.

Thanks for all the info because this is just approved in Canada it's going to be a year before any insurance companies cover it even if it's $300 a month I can't afford it I'm single I'm on a pension. It's just wrong that women have to suffer when you have serious medical issues and the things they require are not covered.

1 Reaction@sue417 , sorry, I saw someone mention that had cancer and could not take hormones so I thought it was also about hormones but it may have been a different post when I got a client call and thought I was replying to that. I should have reread all the posts. I have osteoporosis and so far have been trying to do everything natural with vitamins, supplements and strength training. I will see if my next DEXA scan is improving before I make decisions on what else I should do.
