SNRI to SSRI

I have endogenous non situational depression which my doc thinks was triggered by my migraines. She put me on Effexor which completely resolved my anhedonia but destroyed my sleep and left me with low mood. Tapered off Effexor 5 weeks ago and was put on Celexa and which has fixed my sleep. However, I am still left with a pretty depressed mood. 5 days ago she added 100mg of Wellbutrin and it so far hasn’t made any difference. From a mood standpoint I actually felt better more often on Effexor but we had to fix the sleep. Anyone have any insight when it comes to Wellbutrin and hanging in there a little longer. It’s been a tough journey particularly since I have a happy life but am experiencing it at 60%.

This isn't insight but a friend's doctor told him that you might feel improvement in 2 weeks, but it can take 6 for full benefits. I don't know anything about dosages. It did seem to be working for him after a month.
Hope it works for you soon.

I found that taking NON extended release effexor, 50 mg, in the morning, did not cause as much, if any, insomnia.

My pharmacist told me it could be 3-5 months till I evened out on any side effects after starting to take buproprion (Wellbutrin) and received the full effects. Glad he told me this, as I never would have hung in there that long. I did, and it ultimately worked very well for me. I've been taking it for over 20 years.
