Face Mask

Do any of you have a mask you like ? I have several that are either too big, or the ear loops are too small . We have an upcoming trip , so I’m hoping to find some good fitting ones.
Also , my doctor at UT Tyler said any kind of mask is fine . What are you hearing from your doctors regarding the different types ?

@irenea8 I actually ordered those masks several years ago , and forgot about them . I did like the fit!
Thanks for reminding me . I’ve already placed an order .

I recently visited a Bronchiectasis Center of Excellence ( 2 hour drive from my local pulmonologist . It had been years since I discussed masking , so I asked the pulmonologist if she recommended a specific mask . Her answer stated any mask would be fine . Like yourself , I was surprised by that answer . I didn’t press it since I had several questions left. In fairness , maybe she meant any kind of N95, but that specific was never mentioned . This is why I’m wanting to know what other’s docs are saying about masking .

I recently visited a Bronchiectasis Center of Excellence ( 2 hour drive from my local pulmonologist . @cholash I have been using the N95 mask since being diagnosed in 2023.
So far all has been fine, no other illness other than the Bronchiectasis and Intercellular Infections which has stayed at a low load, so far. No antibiotics so far...and trying to avoid them.

Thought I would share this.
I mask nearly if not always when out of the house and around other people, especially inside, not necessarily outside with people..it .just depends. I always keep my distance however.
I also keep hand sanitizer in my car, two small water bottles of water and paper towels. When I am out of the house and in public opening doors etc. etc. I always sanitize and rinse my hands once I get into the car. In my mind I feel it has helped me....
I so hope nothing else enters my lungs and system that compromises me more.
Hope in the big picture you find the new pulmonologist a help.

@blm1007blm1007 thank you for sharing your routines , and I’m so happy for you that you are staying healthy . I know it’s not easy .
I’m not quite ready yet to be so diligent with the masking . I mask with travel , N95 with gardening , and mask in crowds during the fall & winter . Right now I’m willing to take on some risk . Someday that may change , as the disease evolves . My family is good about keeping the grands away from me if they have any symptoms , which is very helpful .
It’s really hard at times to balance this disease with living a meaningful life.

@blm1007blm1007 I too do the same !I find 3M masks to be the most reliable on the N95 masks .( be careful of Counterfeits).
I sometime wear a kn95 if outdoors and very close to a lot of people .
I had a lung resection and really don’t want to catch anything which always goes to my lungs .
