Dr. Moved my PV visit from 4 months up to 7 mos is that normal?

It's anybody's guess as to why they moved your appointment back, but it may be a matter of scheduling convenience to your doc's office/clinic and they believe you're stable enough to wait and see the doctor at the times they've scheduled for you. But being concerned about it is most certainly understandable, and in your shoes I'd be annoyed as well at having those schedule changes without your being consulted about it!

I'd suggest that you discuss the timing of your appointments with the doctor, you can let them know of your concerns that you aren't being seen often enough, they can explain their rationale for the frequency they have set up for your visits, perhaps reassure you that you're stable enough to be seen at 6-7 month intervals ( or however they set those up). Or, they may acknowledge your concerns and set up appointments more frequently as indicated. But you'll never know unless you discuss this with your providers.

I had a Dr friend who told me if I ever found myself dealing with potentially serious medical problems, seek a second opinion with a medical research institution, like UVA, Duke, John Hopkins, or like facilities. He said the data shows you have a significantly higher chance of survival.

I have JAK2+ and PV Diagnosed 3 1/2 years ago now. As long as you are doing your labs and phlebotomies they can pretty much monitor you by that on your My Chart. Be sure they have standing orders in for you. I have one for weekly labs, but go every four weeks. I requested weekly incase my numbers jumped suddenly or if I felt crappie, this way I wouldn’t have to wait for them to re-enter. Phlebotomies are done when hematocrit is 45 or over and entered that way on orders as well so I can schedule myself and NOT wait for them. I’m usually going about every eight weeks for those. I take the chemo pills and baby aspirin like the rest of us. It’s normal to be nervous and upset but once you get a routine going, you’ll be less anxious. Get them to put those orders in for you.
