Nutren 1.5 protein from Nestle

Posted by sharooni @sharooni, 5 days ago

Hello everyone - My husband went through radiation/chemo to the throat and was on Nutren 1.5 supplement for approximately 7 months. He has now started eating again and was given the go ahead to have the G-tube removed. He is now considered cancer free with follow up visits with the ENT and PET scans for the next couple years. We are overjoyed at his outcome and hope and pray that others out there have good results. With that being said, I have four cases of the Nutren 1.5 supplement that he was on that he no longer needs. There are 24 bottles in a box. One box is opened, but never used. Expiration date is 1/4/27. I wanted to ask if there is anyone within a 50 mile radius of Chetek, WI that would be able to use this nutrition. Insurance has paid for it and I would like to donate it to someone in need. I would be willing to meet halfway or make arrangements to pick up. These boxes are heavy of course and would cost quite a bit to mail to someone. If you know of anyone, please let me know and we can go from there. Thanks and good luck to everyone on here!

Our Mayo nutritionist told us about an organization called Oley. They coordinate donors with folks who need formula. Check it out at http://www.oley.org.

You could also check with your local doctors or perhaps the hospitals down in Eau Claire or the Falls. Many communities have a resource center for medical donations. (My cousin's son is the Police Chief up in Cameron)
Anyway good topic. Hope your husband is improving quickly.
