What do people do for chronic neuropathic pain?
What do people do/take that is helpful for chronic neuropathic pain? This is going on for 2 years and has gotten worse, and is pretty unbearable.

Lyrica at the lowest dose made me so tired it was a struggle to walk to my car. We are all different in what our bodies can tolerate.
@gnocchi
Fer sure fer sure.
@summer1985 My Urologist prescribe B6 a month ago, she advised me to only take 3 months.
I am now in my 5th day of my temporary stimulator implant ( Saluda Evoke system). This will stay in a total of 7 days, than the device will be removed, The stimulator was placed outside on my back with leads being inside. If it works with pain and discomfort than a permanent stimulator will be surgically implanted in my back.🙏
I have tried every cream every little gadget every shoe every sock anything to make me feel better with neuropathy nothing has work nothing I’ve been a working man all my life and I still rather work for a living as to deal with this and I seen one comment on there that they turned this person down for disability that’s bullshit pure bullshit. Nobody wants to deal with this and to know I’ve gotta do this every day. I wake up it’s a very hard decision to make every morning rather I’m gonna make it to work or not to all people that’s dealing with neuropathy. May God bless us all and heal us.

3 ReactionsHas anyone tired DRG or PM&R from twin cities pain clinic
@joanland , I realize this post is from last year, but I saw it and wondered if you could provide any insight on something. You stated you had osteoarthritis and neuropathy pain. My mother has confirmed severe osteoarthritis in multiple locations. She’s gone some relief over the years with cortisone injections in her knees and hips. She also has neuropathy and has numb feet and poor balance. She is in a nursing home and mainly in a wheelchair, walking very little with a walker.
She occasionally has severe pain in one leg from hip to the foot so bad that she will stay in bed for the day. She has no mental decline, but she isn’t able to describe the pain. Like does it feel like arthritis or nerve pain? She can’t say….I don’t know why she can’t tell the difference. The facility made her an appointment at the Orthopedic office for this week. I suppose they will scan her…..idk. We suspect her neuropathy is from severe B12 deficiency she had for years but refused to treat.
Do you immediately know which type of pain you are experiencing?

4 Reactions@celia16 I sympathize and understand where your mother is coming from regarding describing pain.
There are so many kinds of pain and everyones idea of pain (pain threshold) is different. And, for example, picking a number between 1 & 10 is totally meaningless.
Fluctuations: mind numbing ache now but a hell raising stinging burn in a couple of hours, how do you provide an honest answer to the question inbetween?
Multiple simultanious pains, foot, knee, back, neck, wrist accumulating at the brain all at once.......
Yep, I understand your mothers problem.

1 Reaction@paulbeach2001 Hi Paul, I was referred to this new-to-me "neuro" PT by a new neurologist I decided to try when she came to town. I learned this "new" PT clinic had been in town for 6 years, but I hadn't heard of them before.
About all you can do is search for "PT for neuro " or do a search for something specific even if isn't your specific situation, such as: "PT for Parkinson's" because such a search will bring up a shop dedicated to a variety of diagnoses. Good luck.
