Supplements for non-alcoholic caused autoimmune hepatitis several year
I was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis several years ago. First identified as “Fatty Liver” and I was advised to watch my diet. I have had Lupus for about 15 years. I’m currently taking Budesonide for the inflammation due to raised liver enzymes. With my hepatitis not being related to alcohol consumption (I haven’t had alcohol since my Lupus diagnosis) and was never a drinker, I’m learning more about the lymphatic system and how it’s being “sluggish” for lack of a better description, I recently saw this supplement advertised.
Has anyone heard of Sculptique Lymphatic Drainage Capsules?
I’m strongly considering trying it. My doctors have never mentioned any other possible treatment. Has anyone used this with any success for slowing progression of scarring?
As always, thank you so much for any thoughts.

@pgn, I'm responding because you mentioned fatigue and Autoimmune Hepatitis. Autoimmune Hepatitis occurs when the immune system attacks the liver with destructive antibodies. Immune-suppressing medicine is the main treatment. Lupus is also an autoimmune disease. Also, fatigue is a common symptom with all liver diseases.
I have never heard of the Lymphatic Drainage Capsules that you have mentioned. I have not found any medical research about this product, but I have found promptional sales articles. Having said that, I might have missed something. However, as a liver/kidney transplant recipient, I know that everything that we ingest into our body affects the liver - and the doctor needs to know if you decide to go this supplement route - it could be harmful to your liver.
Please, I urge you to discuss this with your doctor.

4 ReactionsThanks Rosemary. I appreciate your support. I’ve never taken anything without the support and consent of my gastroenterologist/hematologist specialist. In listening to the promo I just felt like it made a bit of sense? I had never really had the problem described in that way, or really described at all! I’m just told that I have damage to my liver caused by auto immune hepatitis caused by lupus and right now the treatment is Azathioprine for the lupus and a small dose of budesonide to help I am assuming with the inflammation in the liver helped along by the Lupus and probably my not so perfect diet. Though not overweight and active, I do carry a little extra weight around my middle now at 76 years of age I’m due for a fibrosis test in January. I guess we always wish we could do more to help ourselves along but with autoimmune not much you can do about it on your own.
Thanks again for wading in and I sure take everything you say to heart due to your experience!

1 ReactionI was just told that I have a fatty liver and cirrosis. They just sent me a note that they saw a "bump" both on the left and right side of my liver and that i should redo test in 3 months. Sad but that was it. Think they might be thinking that those "bumps" (my word) might be cancer.
I have spent days on internet looking for information. What I found was there little to none hope for me. BUT that diet may help some.
How in heavens name does a person eat 6 tiny meals a day with healthy foods. I do not know how to cook without salt, butter and carbs!!! Is there a type of premade meals for those of use who have liver desease? This is driving me insane. I live by myself which makes it worse or maybe better?
Need to loose weight but need to eat all this food. Anyway, I have trouble figuring out how to feed myself without spending all my waking hours preparing and cleaning up the diet foods. If no one makes daily packages of 6 meals for liver problems they should---there is a need.
Is there anywhere I can get help before i have a mental problem too? That is not completely just a frustrated comment.
So surprized that the Doctor just gave me results and no directions til next visit in end of September.
Also looking for an inperson support group. I live in metro area in mn
After I finish this I must figure out how to get back to this discussion group. I assume it does not just show up on my email
You all take a big breath and smile and stop for a minute to give yourself a hug from me. Let us pray for each other.

2 ReactionsSupplements can be very dangerous to the liver, since everything that goes into the body is filtered through the liver. I would not take any supplements that were not specifically recommended by a doctor I trust.
@lylii
Forget the doctor I trust part. Being honest with myself, I just wouldn't do it.
@lylii
