Shocked by aging process
My fingernails and toenails stopped growing and just keep breaking off. My hair is falling out. My memory is not as sharp and sometimes I feel a little woozy. I hate this. I want my body and my senses back.

1 ReactionYour mom was blessed that she had you. A lot of us don't have a daughter. I have sons but they are involved with their wives and their wives don't want them involved with me. It's hard accepting this and painful.

4 ReactionsGood morning, @grandmira. You've given me an idea for my tombstone: either "Still making do," or "Making done." 🙂 Have a wonderful day! –Ray (@ray666)

How about the Alex Baldwin line in State and Main, "So that happened."?

2 ReactionsHi, @gravity3
My making do is like my PN. It's idiopathic. In other words, when I'm making do, I have no idea what I'm doing.
Seriously? All of this talk about making do is the same as saying making the best of a situation. Boy oh boy does that not describe my everyday perfectly! If I'm to be perfectly honest, it can get tiring, this moment-by-moment saying to myself: Remember to get your balance before taking that first step! If you want to pick that up off the floor, bring a chair over and sit down to do it! Find that light switch before you to another step into this dark room! Make sure your feet are turned in the direction you want to go before you go! ––on and on and on. These endless questions! It's like being a contestant on a never-ending quiz show. 🙂
Cheers!

Slightly disagree. Making do is accepting. Making the best of a bad situation is taking it up a notch. Looking for the silver lining. Making lemonade out of lemons. (Hey! I like lemons).
Then there's "Thank you sir. May I have another?"

You're right. I agree. Making the best of a bad situation is taking it up a notch. I'm about to do a little notch-raising as soon as I have my lunch. It doesn't have anything to do with my neuropathy; it has to do with my eyes; however, the make the best principle applies. Reading, one of my greatest joys, has grown difficult. A few weeks ago, I phoned my eye doctor and asked about getting some reading glasses. He suggested that I first try some drugstore reading glasses. I took his advice, but the glasses I bought aren't helping much. I'm ready to pay the big $$$ and get a pair of prescription reading glasses––in other words, for the sake of my eyes, I'm going to do all I can to make a unsatisfactory situation into the best possible situation.

2 Reactions@ray666 I have same problem. Same results, or lack thereof. Now have appt in October. Will get a written prescription and then get frames online. So much cheaper. Don’t care about fancy frames for mostly reading I do in private. Best wishes!
