PRRT Treatment: What to expect?
My husband is having PRRT with Lutathera on Tuesday. After reading the information sent from Mayo, he is a little concerned about side effects. What should we expect after the treatment Tuesday afternoon? Are there immediate side effects? Any thoughts will be appreciated.

@rkklinger Yes. I do believe hair loss is a side effect. Although I didn't have a lot of hair to begin with it has certainly thinned out since treatments began. I will be having the last PRRT treatment in two days. I am hoping as my body begins to recover that the hair will grow back somewhat.

According to my oncologist a lot of times the tumors get inflamed and the inflammation can make it look like the PRRT isn’t working when it really is
He did a mri and a Pet scan 3 months after my last treatment

1 ReactionI was stable for 18 months and did have some decrease in tumor size
My last MRI a few weeks ago showed I am no longer stable
I am scheduled for another right side liver bland embolization hopefully to relieve the pain I have been in during for awhile if that works I will do 2 more rounds of PRRT if not I will get my left side done and then do PRRT
Good luck!
Best wishes

@tomrennie
My right side bland embolization is scheduled for 8/11 if that relieves the pain I will start 2 rounds PRRT if it doesn’t they will do a left side embolization and then start PRRT
With all hope I should get about a year of stability and maybe that that point there will be something else approved
Thank you
