Hello @anniegk

You pose an interesting question, I'm looking forward to seeing how our Members respond. When do the uncomfortable feelings begin to lift for you? Have you noticed any correlations regarding meals, activity level or meds that you take?

I find that when i first wake up or within a hour of waking that the Anxiety or Panicky feelings start. Usually by late afternoon, the symptoms of my Depression, Anxiety began to get better. This also is what happened with my Depression, Anxiety 9 years ago. My Psychiatrist 9 years ago told me that this is a very common finding in Depression, Anxiety/Panic disorder.

First thing in the am I take my hypothyroid meds; an hour later my antidepressants, i.e. Lexapro and Buproprion XL; then breakfast while watching my morning news programs. I then have to start on my "must do's" which can cause high anxiety but usually the depressed feeling lifts. I'm always cautious of going into a long depression.

I have COPD and sometimes would wake up with a feeling of "What am I going to be able to do today?". The last election 'news', which I watched all the time had me so depressed that I finally stopped watching or listening to it. That helped considering the candidates!!!!!.

AS the day goes on or sometimes after a low dose of Xanax my mood will start to lift.. No association with food.

Yes, low dosage Xanax helps with the anxiety; but sometimes the depression just lingers

@anniegk I sometimes feel the same way. I think it is because I am overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done and I feel anxious that I won't complete everything.

I get the same way so instead of trying to do everything I set no more than 3 goals for myself a day like wash, clean a bathroom, I usually only do two goals but it helps to pace myself and once that’s done I relax for the day if I feel up to a third goal then I do it if not no worries
