Tymlos side effects

@gravity3 With more and more men being diagnosed with osteoporosis, one would think that more attention would be given to this condition, but it's still unacceptably slow and not receiving the attention that is needed. With doctors being all over the place with their understanding, training, and desire to research the field themselves to best treat their patients, it is doubtful we're going to see any drastic changes anytime soon. I am just blown away at how little specialists actually know regarding the latest info in the field and are resistant to the minimal research available.

Yup. And to add insult to injury our medical system is overburdened so much so that it becomes "cause for celebration" if a provider has more than 10-15 minutes to spend with patients.

I started Tymlos injections in May 2026 and the leg pain seems constant and is concerning to me. Each morning feels like I've run a marathon in my sleep. Soreness and sometimes a sharp shooting pain in my thighs. It's only been 2 months! It makes exercising even more difficult. Doctor advises the pain should subside after my body has "acclimated" to the medication but I am skeptical. Can anyone who's been doing injections for 6+ months offer any wisdom, hints or tips? Hello, I too experience leg pain and sometimes wrist and shoulder pain specially at night after I inject, the pain is not constant and it is not severe and I am ok the following morning. I have attributed to one of the expected side effects. Take care.

How long after you started on Tymlos did the leg pain at night start? About how long does it last and when? Thx

Hello, the pain started off and on a few weeks after I began treatment, it is sporadic now (4 months since)and not acute. Take care!

@rebeccas3 Have you considered lowering your dose (number of clicks on your injection) to give your body a break from the pain? I experienced the same thing, especially when I had switched to nightly injections. (I quickly switched back to morning injections, hydrated well, etc). I lowered my dose to 40 mcg (4 clicks), with the hopes of titrating back up slowly. However, now that I am into my fifth pen, I have not been able to do so due to side effects. I figured the benefits of a lower dose will outweigh having to stop the medication. I have my next DEXA bone scan at the end of August . Hoping for the best. My bone markers still show that I am in an anabolic stage with a good P1NP to CTX ratio. Good luck!!
