Anyone have Mohs surgery on side of nose

One of our other mentors, @gingerw, I believe has also had background with Mohs in this area as well, or at least on portions of the face - perhaps she can provide her experience as well.

Personally, I have had both Mohs as well as radiation for one skin cancer on my face but honestly that was some years back and I can't even remember where the exact location was so I'd have to say there was no scarring there! While I am aware of some faint scars from Mohs on my face, others have informed me that they are not noticeable.

Keep in mind that how any one individual heals from any type of surgical incision, Mohs included is based upon various things: the size/depth of the wound, the surgeon's surgical technique, adherence to post-op instructions and the body's inflammatory responses. @grammato3 @deecey Yes, I had MOHS in the crease of my left nostril. It minorly changed the "topography" of my inner nostril due to how deep they had to go, but it is not intolerable. On the outside, everything healed well, although it was a challenge for bandaging. I had joked with the surgeon that they could just insert a nose-piercing for me and be done with it LOL. Keeping a smile on everyone's face is important to me. But, no they didn't do that!

My husband had Mohs surgery in a basal cell in the corner of his nose where it meets the cheek. The surgeon had to go in three times in a time period of a little over an hour and got all of it. For about a week or two, he was bruised under his eyes and around his nose (and wouldn’t leve the house!). Each day, the bruising would improve. He had stitches on the outside, along with a skin graft. He iced it a lot to keep the swelling down. He had to be careful when he sneezed. However, it healed beautifully and he has no scar! I have had Mohs done on my nose and several other areas and I have no scars from it at all. Be sure to look for an experienced Mohs surgeon! All of my best wishes to you!

What?! I did! I hope we can talk more about it. The way my surgeon talked before surgery made me feel like I was going to have a better outcome than I got. It's strange. The side of my nose where cancer was removed looks better than the top of my nose. I had one revision surgery that only tightened the scar on top a little. I used scar tape for months with no success. And my nostrils are uneven now. My surgery side nostril is the shape of a Tic Tac and the other is oval. I have no problem with Tic Tac shaped nostrils if they are both Tic Tacs. Lol But all in all I go about my day every day not concerned about my appearance which is a blessing from God. It's only part of my body. It's a useful part for breathing and it works for that. I don't know how I became less concerned about my appearance than when I was younger but it's freeing.
