Tapering off 25 mg of quetiapine/Seroquel

Hi I’ve been taking 25 mg of quetiapine for 5 months and want to go off of it. Can I stop this due to the low dose or do I need to taper off. If so how do I do this since it is already the lowest dose ?

I am on twelve point five seroquel. Im now doing it every other night for about 2 days. How much longer should I take it.

I think you should talk to the doctor who prescribed them to you. If it was emergency medicine, you should follow up with Dr. psychiatrist/behavioral medicine.

Im now down to 6.25 gm. for about 4 days then I can stop. Per my Dr. Im doing TMS treatments. But am not sure if I want to take another depressant.

I've been on QUEtiapine XR as well as Venlafaxine for about 15 years. I'm bipolar with severe bipolar depression. My current dosage is 400 mg of QUEtiapine and 300 mg of Venlafaxine. I have a new psychiatrist and since I'm no longer stable he is weaning me off both so he can change my medication in a month. How hard is this going to be considering how long I've been on it? He has prescribed Ativan to help me through the rough days but he doesn't want me to take it every day. I have to admit I'm worried about coming off both if these meds.

@lindaluf how did you do? I am on 150 mg quetiapine/seroquel for 20 years to treat bipolar 2, just started to reduce dose by 25 mg per night, only few nights so far ut ok so far. This is first time on this site, just found it. Is it difficult to reduce dose?
