6 ReactionsIt’s not just fibromyalgia. Doctors tend to use that diagnosis when they don’t know what it is. Been there. Good luck. Gentle hug 🤗

3 ReactionsI am also HLA-B27 positive. My rheumatologist diagnosed me with Axial Spondyloarthritis (also know as ankylosing spondylitis). I have been getting biologics for treatment. Started with Simponi, then switched to Cimzia, and just started Cosentyx. Hope this one will be the one to work! So no, I think you have more than "just fibromyalgia". I was diagnosed with FMS before people even accepted it as a "real" condition. But I have experienced all the symptoms you speak of. Somebody knew enough to test you for HLA-B27, so follow their advice. They probably know what they are doing!

1 Reaction@lisamarie27 Be sure to have your eyes checked by an ophthalmologist. Not an optometrist. There is a difference. Your gritty eyes sound like you may have uvitis. An eye issue caused by inflammation.

4 Reactions@sabrinamischele I was dx with fibromyalgia probably ten years or more with it. When pcp could not pinpoint why I hurt so much she ran blood tests for several autoimmune diseases. One that was positive was autoimmune inflammatory disease. I guess this is why I have hurt so bad, all over, for all these years. I hope you find your answers and especially tx for them.

3 Reactions@sabrinamischele Welcome to the support group! I know you’ve been on Mayo Clinic Connect since February, and have just now made yourself known. And that’s lucky for us! You mentioned the 2 eye doctors, so I thought to give definitions for those who would like them.
For those who might not be familiar with the eye doctors:
an ophthalmologist is a physician who specializes in care of the eye and eye diseases.
An optometrist is one who tests and fits people for glasses
You came to the Autoimmune Support group. Do you have a question or problem that you would like help with?
@joebeth I haven’t heard of a specific site. I am only aware of cancellation waiting lists at the doctor’s office. I’m sorry, I’m not being much help. Did you need a specific appointment?
@becsbuddy no I have an appt but I thought the woman who made it said there was a cite to look at. Guess my hearing was off that day.
