REMS scan in Minneapolis area?
I was recently diagnosed via DEXA with severe op. I'm interested in getting a REMS scan as another data point in this journey back towards welllness. However, with the exception of OsteoStrong franchises who partner with Precision Bone Imaging, I'm having difficult finding anyone else in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area that does them. I'm willing to drive south to Rochester or west to St. Cloud as options, too.
Is anyone aware of REMS scan services, preferably through a more traditional healthcare facility, in or around the Twin Cities? I don't have anything against OsteoStrong but would like to avoid the ensuing sales pitch to join.

I am so glad to hear your recommendation of Odom. I've been trying to reach them for a couple of weeks. The person I talked to mentioned that they were working on scaling up their services to better meet demand. I guess that's a good thing š She told me $100 for the first 60-minute session, then $75 for each 40-minute session after that, recommending 1-2 sessions per week. She didn't mention the 2:1 option. That would help with cost and you know what they say, "misery loves company" š So, I'll reconnect with her on that.
I also found a BoneFit-certified trainer through BHOF (https://www.bonehealthandosteoporosis.org/bonefit-usa/) who also completed the "Training the Older Adult" certification. Her website shows that she offers semi-private (2-4 people) "Strength-for-Life" training for $250/month which includes 2 30 to 40-minute sessions a week. I don't know if it incorporates any LIFTMOR principles. She's on my list to call today.
You had asked about my DEXA scores (thank you!). Here's what it showed. The severe is in the lumbar, the rest in the osteopenia category with some approaching the op category (I think...). I didn't get much explanation on my scores; just it's severe and you need to start Fosomax right away (which I didn't).

Left femoral neck BMD: 0.744 g/cm2

I already have intermittent back issues, so I worry about getting vetebral fractures and ending up with chronic back pain that limits my activity (what's the point of being retired if you can't garden, golf, ride bikes, etc.) so I'm pretty motivated to find wiggle room in our budget if Odom is the better way to go. I'll have the results from my REMS scan and spinal xrays this week, and know my BTMs sometime next week. Then I can make some decisions and get going.

I want to mention one more thing. I contacted the HyperCharge location in Woodbury. It could be that they stopped doing REMS at Woodbury location but still do it in Edina.
