Red spots on skin from Kevzara?
I have flat, small, red spots on lower legs, arms and now a few on chest. Wondering if it's from Kevzara. Anyone else experience this?

2 ReactionsYep, low Platelet Count often causes a few tiny red dots. It’s called Petechiae (blood leaks).
I confirmed this with my PCP.
I have gotten them (5 or 6 tiny flat dots at a time) on three occasions, on my calves. Kevzara can cause a Low Platelets Count.
Have a CBC (bloodwork) done.
Platelet Count below 50,000 cells/mm3, means stop Kevzara until the count improves (increases) then Kevzara may be resumed.
So, mine have not gone that low, and stay above 100,000 cells/mm3, but still that’s low enough to cause Petechiae, but not low enough to stop Kevzara.
Kevzara is the cause, for me. My PCP, of 30 years, didn’t seem overly concerned. They go away and as you know, they don’t hurt. Just another of the many PMR caused gifts.

3 Reactions@stonewheel, @abd and all... Interesting you mentioned this today. I'm having some on my calves and arms I get preriodically. I was at one point told they were Sarcoid rash, but perhaps, since it's related to PMR as autoimmune, the bumps/dots are related. I've been using Kenalog cream at times when they are especially bad. Now, I use a CBD/CBG oil that helps a lot with the skin itself as well as the 'rash'. It's amazing how the skin suffers with these illnesses... and Prednisone. I have cuts, tears, scratches and lovely discoloration on my legs and arms.
Yep. Fun gifts...
Hope your skin improves and you can stay on the Kevzara. Wishing you well... Elizabeth
