With a Decipher score of 0.29 has anyone done Active Surveillance?

His biopsy showed a 3+4 on 1 spot and there were 3 spots with a 3+3 Gleason score. They did a biopsy on 12 spots.
The Decipher score came back Friday 0.29 on the 1 spot. At this time the cancer is not outside of the prostate gland according to the MRI and the Urologist. He is going to the best in Kansas City for a Urologist. His last PSA score was a 5.3 and it has gone up in the last 6 months. He is only 65. Jeff you are wonderful to reply I can’t thank you enough.

He should get an Hereditary, genetic test. Getting prostate cancer at that age can frequently be due to a genetic problem. I got it at 62 and it was because of the fact that I have BRCA2 a genetic problem.
That’s pretty low level prostate cancer. We need to find out what percentage of four there was in that one core That had a 3+4. If it was below 10%, then he could definitely go on active surveillance. Have the doctors talked to you about that?

If the other details in the report on the biopsy are all negative regarding for instance the things Jeff was mentioning, I would think he would be a good candidate to discuss AS with his Doctor
