Stem cell treatment for small fiber neuropathy

Posted by jwr @jwr, Mar 19, 2025

I have "ideopathic"small fiber neuropathy confirmed by punch biopsy. I believe it was caused by an unintended chronic exposure to high levels of carbon dioxide from an unvented gas construction heater.

I am considering, out of desperation because nothing else helps, stem cell treatment in Mexico. has anyone else tried this experiment?

I had stem cell treatment for my small fiber neuropathy and it didn’t work. Don’t waste your money!

@debbiehirsch if the cells are harvested from old or really sick or people who had chemo the cells will not survive the activation process and the treatment won't work

@hauser That's great you can feel hot water again! What is your age, but more important: What is trustem? My husband is 85, in great shape, but has periferal neuropathy. He's trying red light therapy now but would try stem cell or PRP.

@sikocesca mine is the extremities. Motor and sensory. The neurologist told me that it is from my autoimmune diseases. The inflammatory chemicals that are produced have attacked my central nervous system
I also have small fiber neuropathy. I discussed it with the doctor at TruStem and Im to have 3 types-intranasal, I.V. and I.M. My own cells from the bone marrow. 3 day stay in Illinois and insurance doesn't cover it. Its $13,900 including everything but airfare there. I've had these for over 20 years now and have tried lots of things. I'm a M.D. and have done lots of research as well. Good luck to you. I'll post afterwards to let you know how it went.

Hello
Were the stem cells from umbilical cord?
Was neuropathy your condition that was treated?

How long before you experienced improvement?

Thank you for sharing your info.
