1 Reaction@howard176, all the best with your upcoming surgery. I can imagine that you've only just recovered from the April surgery. Will it be done laparoscopically? How are you feeling?
Thanks for the follow up. First surgery went well and I'm anxious to get second one done. Afraid they are taking too long. This is a very aggressive tumor. Scheduled for brain MRI this week for baseline. Tells you where they anticipate this might spread to.
@howard176 Hi Howard. Why are they removing your adrenal gland? You had a partial kidney nephrectomy and now there’s spread to the adrenal? What was the stage of the tumor?
Original diagnosis was 6cm mass on right kidney. Post op pathology showed 8+cm mass with very aggressive features and positive margins. 6 week ct scan showed suspected metastatic spread to left adrenal gland. Scheduled for laparoscopic surgery to remove it on Jul 28. Kidney function is major consideration. Pre op egfr 55 and post op 44 so they don’t want to remove rest of right kidney. They hope to get ahead of this with the knife before systematic treatment.
