Glad you are experiencing less pain now from the surgery. Walking is so helpful. My first weeks post-op were difficult ... my breathing was shallow and rapid... but that reduced as time went on and I was able to walk farther distances. Started Tagrisso a month after surgery and it's been 18 months now. Like you, my tumor was Stage 1B with no lymph node involvement and they identified the EGFR+ marker. My oncologist says the usual course of treatment is 3 years with continued PET scan monitoring after that. So good to have this online community where we can share our questions, our worries and our successes as we travel this road together.

Hello @sierranevadagal395
I’m sorry to hear your first weeks in recovery were so tough. Must have felt just awful and so uncomfortable just to breathe… I’m glad that improved for you.
Great, 18 months, I’m about 3 1/2 months.
After my surgery my stage 1b became a stage 1a… and no lymph node involvement as you.
I wish you continued success with your treatment, and nothing but clear scans ahead ! I just had my first scan and no evidence of recurrence, yay !
Yes, I so agree, so glad we found mayo connect ! Yes, nicely put, “as we travel this road together” I like that 😊😊😊
