Hi Janelle. I am hoping this is ok to reply to your comment above, knowing it wasn't directed to me. . .
to your question above, 'looking for alternatives to statins because of the side effects?' and or the reputation statins have. I have been on statins for nearly 30 yrs and feel my body is dealing with a lot of issues because of my time on the statins. Would like to be able to try to work with diet and exercises hoping my body will heal and reap the benifits of a healthy body.

Absolutely, @mrspancakes! I was hoping you would see my comment to know @tierbbb posted on this discussion.

I read you were looking for others that lowered their numbers on supplements or changing your eating habits to correct this. This was about 8 months ago and I am wondering where you are with this today.

What have you learned? What have you tried, and how has it impacted your numbers?

I would recommend the Blue Zone diet. I follow it and my total cholesterol is 101. LDL is 20. I am 81.
