Anyone in their 40s or younger with PMR?
I am currently 42, diagnosed when I was 40. I have since struggled with finding anyone near my age that has PMR. Even when looking up
information on PMR you will find mentions of the "earliest onset" around 50-55. So not only is it a rare thing to have but I have really struggled finding peers with PMR. I did the prednisone but gained too much weight for my liking. Failed methotrexate and for now I just live in pain. It is so hard to have an "invisible" illness and be out of the typical age range

Yes I was just diagnosed and I'm 41. I'm on 15mg of prednisone I'm going to start tapering down soon.
You are very young to be diagnosed and I imagine it is hard to find information that relates to your situation- I was diagnosed at 55 and thought I was young! The thing that I find quite frustrating is getting understanding from people about trying to keep/ find a job (I am working part-time at the moment but need more work but can't physically do a lot of the jobs that are out there in the region I am in). And we are too young for things such as pensions (depending on where you live and what private insurance or pensions you have etc) and having this condition can be quite the burden financially. I have had PMR for 4 years now and it has had its ups and downs- but the tiredness never seems to completely go into remission. I hope you have a good support network and wish you all the best with balancing the good days with the bad!
