Anyone had skin irritation around the stoma that won't heal?

Has/had anyone had severe skin irritation around the stoma that you just can’t get to heal? I’m using the powder as advised but it doesn’t seem to be helping all that much. It’s quite painful at times.
Any suggestions?

@pez01 I do apologize for asking you, but when you learn what ostomy one piece appliances cost in Canada...which is where I live...you'll know where I coming from. I buy my own supplies from Payless Medical, which has the best prices I can find. From Payless Medical one piece Hollister appliances cost about $80.00 for 5 pieces. That is (if my math is correct...not my strong point) 12 times more in Canada. 12 times $19 is a considerable amount.

Have you tried Amazon and eBay for ostomy supplies? Some of them are definitely less expensive than what you’re paying.

@ravna Thanks. I do know that. However I choose to use only the particular brand that I am accustomed to. I don't change my appliance until I am forced to by a leak, usually by between 7 and 14 days. Ontario Canada gives ostomates a grant each year to help pay for supplies, so with the grant, and our medical insurance, and the amount of money I feel I can spend, I'm ok.

Hi, the location isn't the entire area. It is between the stoma and the belly button.
