I was prescribed Lexapro for anxiety. Is an occasional drink okay?

I have not started taking my prescription yet. I occasionally drink a few drinks with dinner and occasionally a little more at a party. It seems like a steep price to give that up. I am hesitant to start taking the prescription because of that. What are your personal experiences? Are there any SSRIS that are less worrisome to take with a few drinks here and there? Or any other medication for stress and anxiety ?

@lylii thanks! I didn’t think I was that heavy a drinker by comparison. But I get the notion that alcohol can make things worse.

I'm on Zoloft now and my pharmacist said don't drink . I mentioned this to my doctor and he said, you can drink !!!!! Gotta love my doctor lol

Try a de-alcoholized beer or cider. Pour it in your favourite glass. Serve chill or on ice. Cheers for Years.
