Constant upper abdominal pain

Posted by tj @tjanet, Jun 1 4:19pm

I have Short Bowel Syndrome. I am having constant abdominal pain above my belly button and to the left of my abdomen and I also have constant nausea. Doctors don't know how to treat my constant abdominal pain and constant nausea. Abdominal pain doesn't change with what I eat, doesn't change with bowel movements and doesn't change with moving around/walking etc. Resting doesn't change my constant abdominal pain and constant nausea.

@tjanet I am sorry to hear you are dependent on your mom and sister to go anywhere. Is it because of mobility issues?

@rashida
I don't drive long distances because of my health conditions. I am able to walk fine and I do walk a lot for exercise.

My MR enterography impression findings says:
Prominent dilation of the duodenum and proximal jejunum with air-fluid levels. Patulous dilation of the small bowel anastomoses in the left upper quadrant and right lower quadrant without associated bowel wall thickening or inflammation. Findings are most suggestive of sequela of prior small bowel resections with associated ileus or partial obstruction.
Prominent stool burden in the rectosigmoid colon suggests constipation.
My doctors don't seem to be very concerned about the MR enterography results.

You might try going to a psychotherapist as she could tell you about
groups where you live that could help you with transportation.
A senior center, a women's center, even an obgyn, a women's center at your local
university. There has to be someone who can mentor you so get to Seattle.
Don't give up. You are the boss of you... 🙂
