Constant upper abdominal pain
I have Short Bowel Syndrome. I am having constant abdominal pain above my belly button and to the left of my abdomen and I also have constant nausea. Doctors don't know how to treat my constant abdominal pain and constant nausea. Abdominal pain doesn't change with what I eat, doesn't change with bowel movements and doesn't change with moving around/walking etc. Resting doesn't change my constant abdominal pain and constant nausea.

My abdominal pain seems to be getting worse & the constipation that
results from the Tramadol so I am thinking of driving up to the
Mayo Clinic in Rochester. I am out of ideas here. Been to a uroligist
& a GI doctor but they can't find the problem.
I agree that one needs a specialist...what else is there??

What is SIBO ??
@kayraymat
SIBO Short Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth. Which I don't have. I have Short Bowel Syndrome.
Thank you.
I will look that up.
Go to another group outside your town/city for a second opinion to rule out pancreatic issues.
There are politics involved big time with doctors. I could tell you many stories over my 40 years dealing with my issue …. Anyway, go thru the ER of this new hospital (bigger the better by ambulance if possible ) and start new. But if u have mri/cat scans on disk bring them. No doctor will criticize another Dx if in the same group ie: Baptist, or any of the big 3.
@conchgirl
My constant abdominal pain and constant nausea isn't a pancreatic issue. My symptoms are because of my Short Bowel Syndrome condition that isn't being treated medically. I am wanting to get a second opinion but my family members don't think I need a second opinion.
@tjanet get that second opinion anyway - for your own peace of mind, if nothing else. You know your body better than anyone else.
@rashida
I am trying to get my mom and my sister to take me to see the specialist in Seattle Washington. I can't go alone.

1 ReactionMy PCP don't understand that because I have short bowel syndrome, medications (pills) don't absorb much in my body because of the quick movements through my short small intestines. So that is why some medications don't help my health conditions. My doctors don't understand that. But it is common sense because of my Short Bowel Syndrome.
@tjanet I am sorry to hear you are dependent on your mom and sister to go anywhere. Is it because of mobility issues?
