Replacement of aerobika

Hello Everyone!
How do you keep track of expiration dates of each Aerobika part? I wash and sterilize all the parts together and some parts are older than others and it’s hard to know when each expire!
Any thoughts on this are appreciated!
Thank you!

Aerobikas expire six to twelve months. When I see my pulmonologist, I say I need a new one.

@notnancy88 yes, that works if you have one but I have 4 and bought them at different times!

I mostly only use it when the gunk is recalcitrant and difficult to get up. Mostly in p.m. When I use it I only blow out of it, which might not work for some, but works for me. That way, I clean the mouthpiece but don't need to be as careful about the rest of it.

I found this to be an issue also (the multiple parts, multiple dates, how to keep track). I think you really need to commit to replacing them at same time, and using them for same length. I wasn’t comfortable writing on pieces with marker (also will likely wear off with frequent washing/sterilizing), and thought an engraver would create grooves for bugs to attach, kinda counter productive. I now am in the habit of making sure my nebulizer and Aerobika have been sterilized within 24 hours of use, which practically means I use only one set (I do AC once a day). I wash and sterilize after every use, so I replace my nebulizer every 3 months, and Aerobika every 6 months, due to concern frequent sterilization will degrade plastic a bit sooner.

The easiest thing if you have more than one Aerobika is to buy them at the same time.

I also try to replace my Aerobikas and Aeroeclipse cups at the same time. Monaghan Medical recommends replacing the Aerobika every 12 months and the cup every 6 months. If you have multiple sets and do not use them daily, that could be factored in, but as far as I know, there is no guidance from the company on that. And yes, if you introduce new devices at different times, it is difficult to keep track of when they need to be replaced. I have heard of people marking them and even burning a symbol into them, but I have not done that.

Warm regards, Linda Esposito

I use a fine point permanent marker and write the date on the Arobika or Aeroeclipse when I start using it. It barely fades over time. I load them in the Bololo with a set on each side so the pieces stay together. I keep an eye on the dates but I keep using if it's working.
