Having a go bag is a great idea. I have a toiletry bag packed at all times because I never know if my daughter or one of our parents is going to need me. It's good to know I have what I need after I throw some clothes in a bag.

My "purse" is usually more like a huge tote or backpack. I'm pretty prepared there, too.

We have bags packed 24/7 with clothes, books, craft folder, toileting supplies, etc. for our daughter who is autistic and intellectually disabled. They are replenished immediately after trips.

Seeing to your own comforts is a good idea, too. I may add a small duffle packed with a nightie, slippers, change of clothes, notebook & pen.

Knowing all you have to do is grab prepacked bags in an emergency is a godsend.

@larak thanks so much! Lots of good advice on having a go bag packed... I'm getting ready to prep our go bags for transplant time, but he isn't quite there yet. Still waiting to be put on that UNOS list...
