On June 4, The day I had the AUS installed I attended one of the online groups I go to and discussed the AUS surgery I just had. I had almost no pain at all and no side effects, though I was pretty continent for the first three weeks after. I had no burning, though I will not have it activated until July 17.
The doctor that was running the meeting said that he had terrible problems after the AUS install, Felt like they had left instruments or glass inside his body that was just causing it to be extremely painful all the time for weeks. Finally got better and they activated the AUS and he had the same feeling again really painful.
I hope I don’t have the type of experience both of you are talking about, when they activate mine.
I have numbness on the right side of my body right next to my scrotum, but never had any numbness in my penis.
Seems as a wide range of side effects from people that had an AUS installed.
@jeffmarc
You finally did it—you had the AUS implanted. Congratulations!
I'm still on the fence about it. I'm seeing another specialist next week for a consultation, although I'm not yet emotionally ready for another surgery. Maybe I'll be ready after my one-year mark later this year or early next year, but I'm still not sure. I have a lot of questions and concerns that I want to work through first.
You mentioned that you were pretty continent for the three weeks before the device was activated. I don't understand how that could happen before activation. Could you explain how that worked?
