Neck and shoulder issues

Posted by vs112165 @vs112165, 1 day ago

when your neck has a severe crick and your muscles are very swollen on your shoulders and shoulder blades. I had a serious fall back in April this year. I fell backwards and tried to catch myself and crushed my wrist and broke my radial and Ulna bones. This is with the right side. I'm on workmans comp and the surgeon sent me back to work with 10 lb restrictions. My 1st night was miserable I nearly passed out cold 2x. Threw up several times. The pain was unbearable to the point I kept getting dizzy. My legs now go numb from mid thigh down to my ankles. The company will not cover my leg problem because I didn't notice it til after I was recovering at home from surgery. They fixed everything but had to remove 1 of my wrist bones because it was crushed into dust!!!

The numbness sounds like a nerve issue... did your doctors do an MRI on your spine, the whole thing from base of skull to tailbone? That might be a good idea, if nothing else than to rule out a spinal cord injury or compression. that kind of pain is not normal (as you already know) and it could be caused by nerve damage that didn't show up right away- and if you fell hard enough to crush your wrist bone, you also want to make sure there's no spinal damage whether bone or nerve. sounds like a visit to a spine specialist might be a good idea.
Good luck to you in getting to the root of your pain and remedying it with full recovery.

@uisge thanks for advice. I'm about to go to a spine Dr here in my town soon.

@vs112165 I hope that doc can find out what's going on and remedy it.
Wishing you all the best. 🙂

1st thing I’d retain a WC attorney. 2nd thing is getting your Dr to document that your leg issues are a result of the fall in a report or office note. Once you have that, they cannot deny your claim
