Osteoboost helpful?

@mpc1 mentioned that many of the results and data that are being presented were funded and found by the manufacturer of the company itself. Unfortunately, with the diagnosis of osteoporosis comes many products, programs and devices that treat or even reverse osteoporosis. It can be hard to distinguish what is helpful and what may be an attempt to scam.

@lightluz, have you had a chance to discuss this device with your provider? Exercise, diet and lifestyle changes all play a role in bone health, and your provider may be able to help navigate through the helpful and potentially not so helpful products.

I have been using the Osteoboost for about four months and I’m hoping that it preserves my gains from Tymlos injections. Has anyone used the Osteoboost long enough (maybe a year or more) to document improvement in DEXA scores attributable to its use?

@syasin Osteoboost is an FDA-cleared, prescription-only wearable vibrating belt designed to slow bone density loss in postmenopausal women with osteopenia. Osteoboost is not studied or cleared for the treatment of osteoporosis. If you already have osteoporosis, the primary medical goal changes from slowing down loss to actively building bone density back up and strengthening the bone architecture to stop fractures. Osteoboost has not been shown to increase bone density or build new bone. The Osteoboost "Indications for Use" explicitly state that fracture risk reduction was not evaluated in its clinical trials. The manufacturer, Bone Health Technologies, has plans to conduct future clinical trials to see if the device can expand to help people with full osteoporosis.

@syasin The recent 2026 Osteoporosis nation wide conference experts in USA apparently reported that there was no research as of yet that supports it being effective. On Mayo Connect the conference us summarized. But I can't add the URL for that unfortunately as it was blocked when I tried dye ti rules from posting. There was a youtube video that summarized the conference findings including that information. You can Google that YouTube done by Dr Margie Bissinger called 2026 Osteoporosis Updates: New Research... It is a long video. She covers the summary on Osteostrong in the last quarter of the video. Hope this helps.

I tried to look for it but I only found them taking about Osteostrong (evidently doesn’t work), not Osteoboost. Was there one about Osteoboost? I know it does not create new bone, just slows bone loss.
