Wondering if anyone has had colon cancer that metastasized to skin?
Question: anyone in a similar situation? Also, has anyone been suggested to stop taking multivitamin and supplements DURING treatment??
Background: Started out as a ruptured appendix. After first clearing up the massive infection with 6-month antibiotic regimen and then finally surgery, found out had Stage 4 colon cancer either in cecum or next to it caused the ruptured appendix and by then had spread into nearby skin. Started folfox soon thereafter. It went into remission quickly after 6 months of 12 treatments, although doc suggested 24 treatments because "it was complicated." But I had to move back to Wisco to help out with my mom. I was in remission for a whopping couple of months and now on folfiri treatments for who knows how long since CEA is hovering around 5.2-5.5.

@blooiris, cancer that has spread to the skin is sometimes called cutaneous metastasis. It is quite rare (occurring in roughly 3% to 6% of people). Are the skin lesions near the cecum? Are they painful or bothersome, making it difficult to be comfortable? How are you doing on folinic acid, fluorouracil and irinotecan (FOLFIRI)?
