Long Covid has ruined my life and marriage

Posted by kiddo14 @kiddo14, Nov 16, 2025

I have been battling the horrible effects from The Covid vaccine for three years now. It has totally ruined my life and my marriage. Being told that you are a mental case and are unable to do anything correct is some of the worst things people can say to you. The one person whom you thought was suppose to be there for you really has deserted you. The best thing to do is leave a toxic and mentally abusive relationship so you can start to try to heal. Is anyone else going thru this or am I the only one?

@fourleaf , wow, thanks for posting that info. It is helpful as I review the post covid symptoms. I was diagnosed with Post Covid Syndrome late 2023. I had quite a few of the listed symptoms, but not fatigue, exhaustion or fog. I am grateful for that. I’m also grateful that I have seen significant improvement over this past year. Especially, the last month.

Can someone describe what physical pain you encountered with yours? I know what pain I had and suspect it was also part of the post covid syndrome. Just want to make sure. I’d like to share what treatment I took, but want to make sure I’m on the right thread.

Physical pain -
Changed sense of smell - can't smell, Brain fog - getting better, Shortness of breath, Cough, (no Sore throat), Excessive fatigue, (no Difficulty speaking properly,) Changed sense of taste - no taste eat based on texture - crunchy bell peppers carrots etc. , Fatigue, (no Congested or runny nose), Phantom smells - wood burning, (no Runny nose), (no Phlegm in back of throat), Headache + and Migraine -brain on fire -ice pick stabbing - throbbing -auras, Constant thirst - getting better, Night sweats -getting better, Hypersomnia - getting better, Confusion, (no Insomnia), (no Hair loss), (no Dry scalp or dandruff), Dizziness, (no Throat pain or discomfort), (no Postnasal drip), Exercise Intolerance, Wheezing, (no Swollen hands or feet), Cold yes/burning lung sensation - heat pad of back - gone, (Changes in voice), (no Phantom tastes)
PVS -
(No Loss of hearing), (no Suicidal thoughts), (no Feelings of impending doom), Palpitations, Tinnitus - always had, (no Numbness), Internal vibration - felt like on was on vibrating pad, Neuropathy - tingling and burning in fingers (and tremors) - balance issues -low blood pressure - sweating, Burning sensations - brain -ice pack on head

Neurologist referred to sleep study, I fail at home study - stopped breathing number of times - blood oxygen level low of 77% (< 88% not good), referred to at hospital 'polysomnography' sleep test. Determined I have Central Sleep Apnea, the signal from brain to the parts that make you breath gets lost. I now have a Bi-PAP sleep machine (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure) - higher pressure during inhalation (IPAP) and a lower pressure during exhalation (EPAP). Didn't take too long to get use to it. Contacted the Sleep Study Doctor / nurses and given tips on adjusting and referred to videos on ResMed website. Been on it for 4 months, I wake up 2 - 3x instead of 4-5x per night - get between 4.5 to 6 hours of sleep - So that's improving.

Still have all those items listed above... The Eletriptan (every 4 days) and Vyepti infusions (every 3 months) the only things that has showed much relief.

Hoping the Allergy/ Immunologist can find something more.

Wish you the best,
🍀

When you become a medical mystery, it's up to you to find a solution.
That's how the USA healthcare system works as its impossible to be admitted
to a hospital for observation.. I think I have a handle on my problems
except for one. I now weigh 224lbs. I was 228 two days ago. I've increased
my calorie count by doubling it. My first three bit serving tast good. Then
I eat the rest knowing I'm full, but need calories. I graduated high school
at a thin 187lbs. Everything is fine. I just need to turn a few things
around. You friends take care.

I strongly believe the vaccine did it. I was fine up till then. After the booster it was all over.
