Share your test results (if you'd like)

Posted by northoftheborder @northoftheborder, May 28, 2024

I thought it might be helpful to have a thread dedicated to sharing routine test results, good or not-so-good. My intention is just to provide a place for sharing, support, and encouragement, not for debating tests and treatments

I'll start. I've been at stage 4b oligometastatic for over 2½ years, and last Friday I did my routine 12-week bloodwork. My PSA remains below 0.01 (undetectable), Orgovyx and Erleada are holding my testosterone at 0.2, and the other tests are in normal ranges, except for those related to iron, which are slightly low.

Overall, it was a banner day! 🎊 I always treat myself to a masala chai at the little Indian café across the street while I'm waiting for my results to pop.

Do you have any recent test results you'd like to share?

Hi North : ))) ! I wrote the post but it is under "review" ; ), somehow your posts and mine are extra "interesting" per usual lol. Just in the case that it does not appear again - thanks for sharing good news <3 and I am wishing you all future test results to be as "boring" as this one and with zero things to report. 🍀 : )))

PS: How is baby-North doing : )))) ? Any tiny teeth coming in yet lol ? Sitting up I guess and smiling at his grandpa excited to be pocked up ? : )))

@surftohealth88 The baby's doing great. He's eager to walk and eat, but his body hasn't caught up with his ambition yet.

@dailyeffort Thanks!

Just had my quarterly blood work today. PSA still <0.01 (undetectable), and all the tests in the LFT panel show my liver still tolerating these meds well (even better than last time).

The next test at the end of September is the biggie. That's when I'll find out if I'm officially in "stable, long-term remission" (5 years) with the help of ADT + Apalutamide. I know it's just an arbitrary number — it's not as if a switch magically flips on midnight at the end of the 5th year — but it's still an important psychological milestone, especially since my prognosis was so poor in 2021.

My onco accidentally left out the CBC panel, testosterone, and LDH this quarter. Those have all been stable for years, but I think they're required for IRONMAN (at least CBC and T), so I'll call the cancer centre tomorrow.

How has ADT affected your quality of life?

I've tolerated it fairly well since 2021. Moving from Firmagon (injection) to Orgovyx (pills) in 2024 was a huge upgrade.

Wishing you at least 50 more years with the same undetectable PSA test results 🍀 : ))) !!!

6 months post-RARP, PSA is still undetectable. I'll take the win! But believe me, it was a real struggle to open the results.
