I transitioned to a very low-carb, high “good fat,” relatively high protein diet years ago, and my migraines basically disappeared. I no longer take triptans nor any of the newer drugs. I think it’s the only long term solution. Once I got used to the diet I did not want to go back - ever

Had daily migraines for 6 months, nothing worked until my neurologist gave me Botox. Relief was almost immediate and lasted for almost 3 months. Now get the injections to neck and upper back every 3 months, and have my life back.

Hi, @ranee22, and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I'm glad you've gotten to connect with @mbixler and @lturknett.

Wanting long-term solutions for migraine sounds wise and reasonable.

What I'm wondering is if you could share what symptoms you experience? Do you have a diagnosis of a certain type of migraine?
