What little things make life worth living?
Rescuing animals keeps me busy and smiling. They make me happy, always laughing, and learning. It must be worth it for me to have the rescue for 16 years. The time, energy, cost and efforts must be something we enjoy, which in turn is good for our health mentally and physically. Where does your daily joy come from?

Friends! We had a joyful day yesterday, a surprise 80th birthday party for a friend of 40+ years. We caught up with many friends and some of their extended family, sitting on a their daughter's deck overlooking a pond with birds.
And we got to meet their delightful grandson, who immediately bonded with my husband and 2 others in our long-time "pod" over their mutual love of photography. Bonus - my husband's large format film camera found a new home with him, and he is beyond delighted to receive it. He will be the envy of his photography club at university.
Considering that at our ages, we more often gather for funerals, it was a glorious day!

2 ReactionsMy solace are my pet cats-2 16 year olds and one 19! They keep me centered-even through multiple sicknesses I have Always got up to feed and care for them. My serenity, stability, even sanity at times. They are a lot of fun and keep me enjoying the most simple things in life.
I fully recommend having at least one pet in your life. They are so aware of your feelings and when you are unwell. My cat Chloe did not leave my side but for the basics through thick and thin. A cuddle is as good as a hug!
It helps all concerned to see this simple happiness in your life.

8 ReactionsWhen my granddaughter started school we happen to be visiting. Her with the school bag over her shoulder, cute as a button came into the house, I was standing there to get my customary hug, she held up her two hands and said, “No time for hugs papa” and continued on to her table to go over her school work. That day still gives me a laugh.

5 ReactionsAnother day to breathe , explore, experience a new restaurant , or adventure. Have lunch w/ family, friends. Call them especially if they live far away. I always feel great after a phone "visit". Go volunteer for personal, people, food bank etc. Get out daily sun , walks help your mood. So so very much one can do. Best wishes to you
You can do this! ❤️
