What little things make life worth living?
Rescuing animals keeps me busy and smiling. They make me happy, always laughing, and learning. It must be worth it for me to have the rescue for 16 years. The time, energy, cost and efforts must be something we enjoy, which in turn is good for our health mentally and physically. Where does your daily joy come from?

A glass of wine before dinner and a cup of cocoa before bed. Lol.

5 ReactionsA walk in a park, a cup of coffee in my back yard, my stray cat comes to visit. Last but not least, having daily meals with my hubby, my son calls to say hi.

5 ReactionsNature around us makes us happy. In particular when a few deer decide to graze on our yard. Or, when our bird feeders are overflowing. Also, when I cook a meal for the first time and it's a winner. Also, love seeing grazing livestock on our way to town.

3 ReactionsIt's what one can have only in a MUTUAL, gain-receive setting: Friendship.
No wonder Aristotle called it so high in his view that he believed: Life without a friend is not worth living.
And why not -- it protects from 4Ds: Depression, Diabetes, Dementia, and early Death.

3 ReactionsMy ultimate happiness and peace gets re-energized immensely just 2 or 3 times a year when we travel a day each way back home to where my 2 grown children (6 grandsons, 1 granddaughter) and a first great granddaughter that was just born. My time with them energizes me with a happiness that is hard to even put to words and that I have never had with anyone else in my life! The connection to my “Grands, as I refer to them” is a magical sharing of what I call (a little bit of “crazy or silliness” inside of me) that I pretty much only share with people close to me occasionally, even though I am now 70 yrs old. I tell the grandchildren often to “always keep a tiny bit of crazy” inside of you that you use with those you love most! I just got home 2 days ago from one such visit. Julie

Where to get the vegan version of it, I wonder, or do you make it yourself?
