Trimix Question: Can Trimix lose its potency?
First time that I used trimix was successful at 10 units. Had intercourse. I just tried for second time. Filled syringe with 12 units. Thought to increase because it was in the fridge since 4/27. Did not work successfully. Decided to inject another 5 units for a total of 17 units. Still not erect enough for intercourse. Still very enjoyable intimacy with orgasm. Can it be that Trimix has lost potency. Once again script filled 4/27 and today is 6/13.

@ddavid 2 1/2 years since my prostate surgery. Trimix was about the same for me as it was for you. It would get everything really close, but not close enough. Like you, I tried increasing the dosage. Same story different day. I had a general , comprehensive view of what was gonna go down after my surgery. What I did not understand was it was gonna go from great to zero. That tends to be significant.
Jumping in here, despite my pretty firm commitment not ever to stick a needle in my penis - I can't imagine. But...has anyone had bad outcomes using Trimix in terms of scar tissue Peyronie's disease with painful penile curvature? Having that tells me that maybe you would need to inject both "sides" of the penis, or alternate each time you plan to have intercourse, so you are not injecting on the same side each time, causing the Peyronie's issue.

I agree. I knew it was a possibility going in, but I had hope. Reality replaced hope. Being on ADT makes it easier to manage mentally -- I have 0 sex drive.

3 ReactionsI have had Trimix frozen for over three years and it still works well. My wife has lost all interest in sex, so I use it for penile therapy every once in a while, after my RALP destroyed my erection-allowing nerves. When the vial arrived years ago, I filled as many syringes as I could and froze them. So now I just defrost one syringe rather than the whole vial.

2 Reactions@rlpostrp It is recommended that you alternate sides to help prevent the formation of scar tissue.

1 ReactionI got a bottle in March and just used last week with great results. That said, I am thinking about filling syringes and freezing the next batch. I have had a couple “dud” injections where nothing happens or it just is halfway. I think it has to do with placement of the dose. I also think other variables apply, like how you are feeling overall. My best times have been when I am sure I got the corpus cavernosum. You feel that little resistance going through the wall. I’m still learning.

I have found the same thing. After injecting I have to massage my penis to spread the injection throughout. That takes up to 2 minutes. My partner has lost interest in thst time. I have to do it otherwise I get pain in my penis which lasts for several hours.

1 Reaction@brucerichardson my experience is that sometimes the formulation is incorrect. Increasing the alprostadil will increase hardness -- generally.
I find that it works about 80% of the time and thats just either user error or the batch is too old.
There are some excellent videos on A Loving Subject, an online community for men and families who are managing prostate cancer.

Hey Jim, I had the same issue. I wasn't shooting the needle horizontally so my success rate was low. I changed the position and now I have success 99% of the time.
Trimix was very painful, with long lasting erections (one time lasted 7 hours). I switched to Bimix and it has been amazing. No pain and the erection lasts no more than 1 hour. Look into Bimix if you can. Get the auto injector, that too was a huge help.

3 Reactions@tj1967 That’s very good news. After the Trimix pain and hearing that Bimix wasn’t as good, I wasn’t ready to try anything else. I have a Bimix Rx ready to fill, so I’ll give it a try. How did you determine dosing?
