Blood Pressure Highs AND Lows

Posted by patchpowers @patchpowers, Oct 8, 2022

Hello!
After 1 Ketamine IV treatment, I've experienced the highest of highs and lowest of lows regarding blood pressure.
Had my heart tested and all clear. Now my PC doc is lost as to how we should proceed.
Been monitoring it for a few months. On low dose BP med.
Has anyone encountered up and down blood pressure?
Thanks!

I have had a fluctuating blood pressure for at least 8 years and no doctor has been able to figure out why. It can go down as low as 80 and up as high as 180. When either one occurs, I get very tired. HMS

I’ve had the same BP Iproblem for years. Lowest around 95 (very seldom) and highest 189. Most of the time my BP is controlled, but never an explanation why I have periodic spiking. I think the conclusion has been stress related.

@94andhealthy I thought I was the only one experiencing such highs and lows. When I go down to the very low numbers (80 systolic, 50 diastolic) I feel lightheaded and listless. I am at a loss to understand what is happening. It is relatively a new experience for me.

I would like to know if there is a hormonal issue. I quit adding sodium to my food in October 2025 when I was first diagnosed with hypertension. I understand that I am getting enough sodium through the foods I eat such as green leafy vegetables and beans and lentils etc.
